Image creation has been the lifeblood for Heidi since childhood, when she was always drawing or painting. In the early 1980's, she attended UC Santa Cruz, graduating with a BFA degree in Fine Art, with an emphasis on painting.
With a few years of real world working experience under her belt, Heidi decided to attend Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, where she graduated in 1987 with a degree in Illustration and an extensive portfolio in Graphic Design. She was immediately employed as an Assistant Art Director for two Magazines--Collector's Photography and Darkroom Photography. In the same year, she worked as an Associate Art Director for Billboard and American Film Institute's monthly magazines, ending up as an Assistant Art Director at the Los Angeles Times Magazine. After getting a referral to design a book cover, she discovered that freelance was the way to design and started Art Head.
Using her skills from over twenty years as a freelance art director/graphic designer to create successful, consistent branding and business collateral, she brings expertise in graphic idea creation, production and communication for a variety of industries and clients.
She works collaboratively and according to her client's vision, bringing creative concepts to light that are original, legible, professional and engaging.
